A word from your host.

Welcome. I am truly pleased that you have chosen to spend a few minutes on my website. Please allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Dr. Matthew Wade Umbarger. For nine years, I studied the Hebrew Bible at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Beer-Sheva, Israel. During that time, my family and I learned Hebrew, became members of a Catholic Church that worships in and communicates in Hebrew, watched American cartoons that had been dubbed into Hebrew, went to the bank, the post office, the doctor and the grocery store in Hebrew, and ate lots and lots of falafel. My ambition is to share a little bit of the unique perspective that nine-years of falafel-eating has given me with my fellow humanity. Trust me. I am more than qualified. Like I said, I'm a doctor. Do you think someone with a face like that would steer you wrong? So put some schug and techina on that thing, take a bite, and enjoy the experience. See? Aren't you glad you trusted me?
